Let's go to the Beach

Added on January 12, 2014 by Ryan Gilman.

Despite the weather, I hope that this piece brings warmer thoughts to mind. Unfortunately, we didn't take any actual photos at the beach.  After the Wave Hill Project, I wanted to build a modern-looking home that was minimalist, and could withstand the elements of, salt, water, sun and sand. This structure, 2 stories in height, was put together with acrylic sheet plastic, construction plastic and stainless steel screws.  We designed it with damage control in mind, so that its parts could be easily replaced. Additional photos are here.
